Hi Tami,

Rom 15:4 For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.
Rom 15:5 Now may the God who gives perseverance and encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus,
Rom 15:6 so that with one accord you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. NASB

Zep 3:9 "For then I will give to the peoples purified lips, That all of them may call on the name of the LORD, To serve Him shoulder to shoulder. NASB

These pasages seem very similar, impo. How can we have the same mind of Christ and yet, not be using the pure language? We all may call on the name of the Lord thru grace.

Isa 6:5 Then I said, "Woe is me, for I am ruined! Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I live among a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts."
Isa 6:6 Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a burning coal in his hand, which he had taken from the altar with tongs.
Isa 6:7 He touched my mouth {with it} and said, "Behold, this has touched your lips; and your iniquity is taken away and your sin is forgiven."

Edited to add:

Tami, do you think 'truth' is the pure language?

Hi Atalaya,

It's nice that you don't share your brothers' opinion of us as being apostates. #hug# I've known some JW's who don't follow the hard line in shunning others who have been df'd or da'd and it's nice to see you're in that group! Stick around, you may learn more from us than you expected. #wink#

Love, Libby

To be honest, I'm not sure exactly what the Pure Language will be. I'm sure it will have something to do with being pure truth, but other than that it's hard to say. It just seems to me that whatever it encompasses, we won't have it completely until after the denunciation and all that. I believe we may have pieces and parts of it today, but just not the entire thing. (Proverbs 4:18, 1 Corinthians 13:9-10)

Love,
Tami

This is an interesting article.

http://www.harvestherald.com/while_men_slept.htm

The truth is not to be found in any one of them but only in a personal relationship with the risen savior. It is my firm belief that if we make THAT our first goal, that only then will God instruct us in His truth. When we are willing to drop all our pre-conceived ideas and ask the Lord for His wisdom and only His wisdom, then we will be on the right path to learning what is truth and what is error. When we become willing to believe what God will teach us, regardless of what anyone says, then we will be on the right path to learning truth. But certainly we must be willing to study His word for ourselves, and not just accept that the things which have come down to us through the centuries must be true simply because so many have believed them.

Thank you for digging up all the info for me, Libby! I was hoping I'd found a gem, but I see it was another dead end, dang it! That's a shame, for most of the rest of their ideals sounded good.

Like I've said, finding a group that doesn't promote the "Jesus-is-God" teaching seems difficult. It seems to have permeated throughout most christian based groups. *sigh*. Back to square one.

It's a good thing we have internet fellowship, otherwise we'd all be on a deserted Island!

Love,
Tami

Hey, Tami,

If I read John 1: 1 as it should be translated, I would (effectively) read that Jesus Is God! I wonder of that explains your problem?

Archangel,

We don't have a problem discussing the Trinity thing, but you will need to start a new thread elsewhere on this board for it, just so we don't wander too far off topic on this thread. #coffee#

I understand that, my friend, but this was a specific response to your comment about 'Jesus is God' churches. I was merely trying to point out that these churches may have a point, considering that in my research, I'm finding that the true meaning of certain Bible texts points to Jesus being God. And, I did not say the 'T' word - honestly!!
