Then why does every complaint-meant-to-prove-JW's-are-wrong focus on problems related to knowledge? I find this to be the case in every anti-JW comment I've found on the web.

I could be way off base, but this is my thoughts on the matter:
JW's think they are showing love by shunning those who they believe are actively sinning. They believe that by holding back all connection and relationship with the "errant one", it is a scriptural expression of brotherly love.
HOWEVER... for the one being shunned, it's a death sentence. They are taught that they will die in armageddon, and even their family members won't help them in cases of emergencies. Therefore, in an effort to show the shunners how destructive their shunning is, they try to use reason, logic and knowledge.
If a person can convince the JWs of some of their doctrinal errors, perhaps they will be more open to recognizing the destructiveness of most disfellowshippings, thereby inducing a more loving way of handling things.
At least, that's how I tend to wrap my mind around it. Anyone else?

So you're saying it's because many people disagree with the JW understanding of showing love? Which ironically, would still be a knock against their knowledge & not love.

Surely the JW method of showing love, as Tami has stated, is not showing love at all, but showing pride and cruelty! So perhaps people have a right to disagree with it?

That view would contradict other views in the Bible. God is love (1 John 4:8) but he tells his followers to treat people unlovingly at 1 Corinthians 5:11-13? It must be loving to treat bad people like that. How else should such a plain Jane scripture be taken?

wow. I don't think there is any 1 way to say it. (then again I'm new to this anyway.) I grew up not knowing much of anything about religion but from what I do know or from what I gather anyway. Love and truth are the same. But then again that is just from what I have been taught.

Love and truth aren't always the same. For example, I could be your mother and tell you that santa and the easter bunny are real. When you get old enough to know they really aren't real, you'd still have my love, but not quite the truth.
